What we say
Philly's oldest gay bar is the "gay cheers"
Casual neighborhood bar with a dim, smoky atmosphere. A very laid-back place for good inexpensive drinks.

I have been searching for a gay bar with a great beer selection. They changed hands a few months back, so if you haven't been in a while check it out again. Great beer selection and easy to talk to bartenders. Nice atmosphere overall.

The new owner of this place is keeping what was good, getting rid of what didn't work and adding things that were much needed. There are 12 different beers on tap at any time now. You'll have some of the usual suspects BUT there is always a nice selection of micro-brews. They've reopened the kitchen after a renovation and you have GOT to try the burger!
All in all, a great, friendly, nicely priced gay bar to hang in Philly! A most stop if you're visiting or if you live in Philly, come back you'll be pleasantly surprised.

This used to be the only gay bar in Philly with a decent beer selection, including my favorite, Philly Brewing Company. Now it's just ten taps of Bud light, coors light, natty lite, the standard colored-water (I'm being polite) beers...
It's a shame, it was a good place to hang out.

The twink who was working the Saturday waiter shift got into a BIG fight withe bartender. Put on his coat. Called the manager. Bitched out the bartender. It was entertaining, but SOOOO unprofessional. He deserves to be fired. I won't be going back there.

Lately the Westbury has been a hangout for strange, sleazoid types, older men with hustler type druggies. Many of the druggies are on heroin and some are straight and are being "bought" by these daddies who seem to collect them. Real creepy. Fights have broken out in Uncles, another Philly gay bar not too far away. These fights are between daddies and their drug addict companions. Where is all this low life coming from?
