On March 8, Stimulus Productions will be hosting a screening of the ground-breaking documentary, Miss Representation at William Way Community Center.
The film Miss Representation exposes how American youth are being sold the concept that women and girls value lies in their youth, beauty and sexuality. We are hosting this screening, at the start of women's history month, to spark a dynamic conversation about how misogyny and sexism in the media contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America. Ultimately, we hope that this will be the first of many steps to empower the women in our thriving Philly LGBTQ community to unite to eradicate gender stereotypes and pervasive sexism throughout this country and the world.
