'Pretty Mbane' is about a young South African soccer phenom who flees to England escaping persecution, but when her activist lover, Pretty Mbane, goes missing, Noxolo is forced to reassess her life and her choices. Returning to South Africa during the World Cup, Noxolo’s search brings her face to face with the demons of her past and her country’s blind eye towards LGBT-related violence.
