Making A Difference A portion of the proceeds of this event will go to support Autism Speaks. Autism is one of the fastest-growing developmental disorders in the U.S. It affects 1 in 68 children. Boys, however, are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism. There is also no medical detection or cure for this disorder. Families impacted spend on average $60,000 a year in care and related expenses for their children. Organizations like Autism Speaks work to increase awareness, advocate on behalf of families impacted around the World and work to raise needed funding.
