Fringe Audition: Birdie's Pit Stop

*MUST EMAIL FOR AN APPOINTMENT* Auditions for the 2016 Philadelphia Fringe Festival! BIRDIE'S PIT STOP (and the tribe of queers who fucked everything up) a new play by Haygen Brice Walker directed by Elaina Di Monaco Sept 9 - 17. Late night Fringe. Venue: The Pharmacy (18th and Wharton) Birdie's Pit Stop is the shittiest bar in the shittiest part of the shittiest town. But when a tribe of queers (from up north) crash in--all hell breaks loose. Literally. A play about demonic possession, drag queens, sacrifice, stuffed deer heads, and Jennifer Lopez. *All audience members required to sign a waiver. See the casting breakdown below. ***THE TOWNIES*** + BIRDIE (Cast) Female, 20s. White. Born and raised in this small town. Daughter of the owner of Birdie’s PitStop, which is named after her. Aspires to take over the bar and make it a destination for city-folk. Passionate, as open-minded as she can be in her town, and a bad-ass. + RALPH Male, 20s. White. Born and raised townie. Bartender-in-training at Birdie’s PitStop. Loves Applebee’s, guns and white people. Fine with the way things are. + CECILIA Female, 20s. White. Birdie’s sister. Part southern sweetheart, part possessed demon monster. Very drastic switches between the two personas. + MOTH (Cast) Male, 20s. White. A very peculiar human being. Cecilia’s boyfriend. Recently became the town Deputy. Always sporting a cowboy hat and an impressive belt buckle. Bible-belt religious. + JAX (Cast) Female, 20s. White. A casual hitch hiker. Potentially homeless. Overly perky. Social skills… not so much. A nice mix of joyful, obnoxious and terrifying. ***THE QUEERS*** + TRIXIE TABU (ASHER) Male, 20s. A Drag Queen (and a damn good one). Any race, though he “claims” to be 1/8 Puerto Rican. Obsessed with J-Lo. Queen Bee of the group. Fabulous, up and down, and the most feminine in the group. + CALLUM Male, 20s. Any race. Trixie/Asher’s boyfriend. YouTube famous. Quick-witted. Influential. Kinda mean. Uptight about everything except for his over the top pranks. A master-prankster. + PHIN Female, 20s. Black. Queer. A badass feminist. Takes no shit. Calls it all out. Centered. Practical. The most down to earth in the group. Camera girl for the YouTube Channel. + PENELOPE Female, 20s. Any race. The epitome of a liberal, overly PC millennial. Blunt. Considers herself well-informed about pretty much everything. Helps run the YouTube channel.
