Death Is A Cabaret Ol' Chum: A Graveyard Cabaret
REV Theatre Company
“Fantastic . . . performers with killer pipes . . . spine-tingling . . . dead-on sexy” Phindie
“Pretty damn ideal . . . a total blast” Citypaper
“A consistent favorite and top ticket-seller, REV rises for another year of graveyard frivolity. Head to the cemetery for free cocktails and cabaret that spooks and stirs the soul" Philly Voice.
Wroughtland
Gunnar Montana
Gunnar Montana transports us once again, this time to a land where fairy tales take a wicked turn, and the innocent and optimistic stories of happily-ever-after wrought into the harsh realities of life. Let go of your fantasies and succumb to the evil that lurks under the surface of your fondest childhood memories.
Bodas de Sangre/I Only Came to Use the Phone
The Duende Cycle
Two shows. Two languages. In repertory.
The first, Lorca’s classic tale Bodas de Sangre (Blood Wedding), retold in modern day Miami. A desperate bride escapes with her lover into the swamp on her wedding day. Performed in Spanish and English. The second, inspired by Márquez’s short story I Only Came to Use the Phone. Maria's car breaks down on a rainy evening in 1970s Barcelona. She takes a bus to use the phone at an unknown destination, but is mistaken for a patient in what she comes to realize is a mental institution. Performed in English.
Matador
Ethos Physical Theatre Company
A Mexican fairy tale about a fearsome Matador and his Godless bull. The show features an impressive display of physical bad-assery including static trapeze, nunchuck dance and acrobatics inspired by Lucha Libre. This impossible story of romance, trust and belief proves that love really is the bloodiest sport of all.
Surface Tension
Tangle Movement Arts
How far can you see beneath the surface? Tangle's acrobats explore life's hidden currents and push through the forces that pull us together. Merging circus arts with theater, dance, and innovative storytelling, Surface Tension uses trapeze and aerial silks to dive into a world of fixed points and sudden changes.
The Soundproof Room
The Soundproof Room
Co-create the soundscape of your life. A playful, evocative musical journey inspired by shamanic traditions and remixed for a modern, existentialist audience. Hear your stories told through an engaging a blend of sound healing, voice improvisation, and playback theater. Promising “zero-to-music” in sixty seconds or less.
BIG CRUNCH
TOLVA / Sam Congdon
The world has gone rigid. Gender roles are strictly enforced by a ruthless government. There is a queer rage bubbling up through one cyborg's circuitry, but can a single robot bring it all down? A queer sci-fi odyssey of self-discovery and rebellion blending solo performance, experimental electronic music, and video.
