U Bar Formerly: Uncles

(166 Ratings)
Quiet and cozy spot
U bar is a laid-back neighborhood bar that's a great place for inexpensive drinks. Customers can sit here and watch Locust Street go by through the large windows.

SUCKS!!!!!

If you have never been there don't waste your time bartenders with attitude. Went there with friends on a Sunday afternoon and it was like pulling teeth to get service. Would NEVER go back.

Definitely an Older Crowd

I only popped in for a moment, but the crowd was definitely older. I mean, I felt young.. Yikes!

Always feel like a native here

Very friendly staff. Makes me feel right at home. Sort a blast from the past there.

great for conversation with a stranger

I think Uncles is excellent. the croud does range a little higher in age but I would say more like 30 and up, which can be refreshing. On good nights you can meet a hot "straight" guy there, it's the kind of place that makes them comfortable and relaxed. Trust me, I lived close by in my 20's. HA HA!! It is also a nice place to chat. The bar is oval, which I LOVE! Go and have a good time, it's full of positive energy. Oh, and the bartenders are superb! ;)
