Could it be THAT great?

On a Saturday night the downstairs piano bar was totally packed, but no one was listening to the player or the singers, they were all waiting in a never-ending, never-moving line to go upstairs to what locals described as the tiny dance floor. Drinks were VERY strong and well priced, and the clientele was attractive, but I can't imagine that anything was so great upstairs as to wait in that ridiculous line. If you want an actual piano bar experience, get on a train and go to New York. And if you want a dance floor, find a club that's actually big enough to have one.

a laid back club

Tavern on Camac is a laid back atmosphere, altought not necessarily a place to get to know people more likely a place to go as a group. But they do have a variety of things going on from a piano player to dancing. Unfortunately, it is just about the best that Philly has to offer. Altough there seems to be a diverse crowd they all seem to know each other...or be in groups at any rate. However, unlike most of the other bars I went to, I did at least find one friendly bartender who was winning to talk to me about dinning possibilities etc.
