Woody's

(511 Ratings)
Must stop lounge/dance bar

A multitude of rooms caters to the different moods of Woody's patrons. Get drinks and people-watch in the main bar, have a cozy conversation in the pub room, or get a latte in the Coffee bar. Make your way upstairs to the video bar, then move to the dance floor to get your groove on.

Cool place

Gets crowded but seems like everyone stand around or just walks around cruising, which is cool. Staff is pretty nice and welcoming, definitely a good place to go when looking to pick up a cute boy ;)

met my BF there

i never thought i'd ever say that...but it happened. i know the mgmt and they've worked hard to make it a great place to go, and for the most part they've succeeded. great drink specials for happy hour, big dance floor, definitely something for everyone.

OK

As an out of town visitor to Philidelphia, Woodies' Bar is a wonderful space that makes you feel at home. However, the dance space upstairs is not. On Saturday nights it is over crowded and the DJ's place music that you can hear on the radio. There was nothing unique about the dance space.

Decent

The prices were good the building was clean and the atmosphere pleasent with a nice mixed crowd. But it is probably the only bar I have been to where the bouncers are sweet polite and welcoming and the bartenders are curt persnickety and a little jerky. I will go back but I will probably avoid the areas the not so nice bartenders are working.

Cookie cutter gay bar

Overpriced drinks in cheap plastic cups with more ice than booze, TVs around every corner subjecting you to campy videos and aloof bartenders made this a place that I'd be happy to not revisit. Live and learn I guess. Unless you've got a date and this is the only option for you, of course, by all means, go there, however. I'd suggest visiting some of the other nearby venues if you have any extra time.
